Hollywood Violence
vs. Washington's

by Robert Lederman

September 28, 2000

Normally I feel about as much solidarity with Hollywood executives as I do with Mayor Giuliani. That changed after viewing the Senate hearings on violence in the media.

The Senators-for-hire on the committee managed to do the impossible-they made Hollywood's smooth-talking executives seem honest and straightforward by comparison.

Not that I appreciate the dreck Hollywood and the media peddle to my kids, but let's be real about where the threat to society is actually coming from. On a list of the 100 top causes of the violence and dysfunction in American society movie vioviolence has got to be around number 99.

Who's really the guilty party here?
The Senators
or the Hollywood executives?

The Senators create wars solely in order to help their contributors sell military hardware. They send young men and women to other countries to kill and maim and force them to take scores of experimental drugs for "protection from disease". They pass laws making deadly vaccines mandatory for children as part of a Eugenics/population reduction agenda. They take hundreds of millions in political donations to allow corporations to poison our air, water and land. They use our tax dollars to spray pesticides on our children which cause cognitive, psychological and physical damage. They are allowing the entire world's food supply to be contaminated with experimental genetically-altered animal viruses.

Many scientists now believe that vaccines and pesticides are the actual cause for both the increase in violence among the young and the epidemic of Attention Deficit Disorder and related psycho-social problems.

Unlike our lying professional politicians the Hollywood executives make no bones about what they are about-making money and lots of it. They create and market a product which is more or less exactly what they say it is, mindless entertainment.

The sex and violence is blatantly presented-there's nothing secret about it. No one paid eight dollars to see Natural Born Killers thinking it was a children's story about lions. No one tunes into Sex and the City thinking it's a biology lesson.

The Senators lie about who pays them and what the "product"is they are trying to bring to market. Hundreds of thousands of reporters and commentators earn their living trying to untangle the web of deceit and obfuscation these professional liars weave as they pretend to do the business of the American people. No foreign nation could ever hope to present as much of a threat to America's survival as do these members of the legislative branch.

Every law they pass is a loophole-filled Trojan horse designed to ruin the people of America while benefiting the super rich these legislators work for. Ironically, these same immensely wealthy Hollywood executives are some of the top contributors to their campaigns.

Then who is this charade being performed for and exactly what is it really about?

Here's my theory.

These Senators have no intention of significantly limiting Hollywood's freedom of speech. Instead, it's our free speech they want to curtail. If any legislation is passed as a result of these fake hearings you can expect it to most heavily hit the Internet, which is rapidly becoming the last refuge of free speech in America.

Websites, books, leaflets and comics that attack the government or promote "violence"-i.e. demonstrations, resistance and counter-culture will be the target. Hollywood will keep on churning out their material, albeit with a new set of warnings that do nothing more than advertise the sex and violence they are supposed to be helping us avoid. My paintings of Giuliani as Hitler-rather than the Sopranos-will be censored for promoting violence.

If I were a mathematician I'd write this up as a formula. The government wants to investigate the media for it's content of sex and extreme violence. At the same time the government in the form of the CIA and various corporations like Westinghouse and GE are also the owners of the very media they are pretending to investigate.

I guess the government is itself one of the oldest forms of entertainment there is-a puppet show.
