September 8, 2000As Giuliani's toxic spray festival continues he has chosen to denounce various national leaders visiting New York for the U.N. summit as murderers-which they may well be. Nevertheless, there is an amazing degree of irony in the Mayor's statements.
Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have now been directly sprayed by toxic pesticides and-despite the best efforts of the administration to hide reports of illness-the entirely predictable effects of this Eugenics-oriented spray policy are coming out into the light of day.
The following news clips givgive a sense of what is to come. We can expect that over the next few months the same newspapers and tetelevision news shows that ignored thousands of documented reports, scientific studies and materials from the City's own website showing these chemicals to be dangerous will be doing exposes showing their toxic effects.

which show that:
- 1) Despite setting up fake "hotlines"intended to bury reports of illness from pesticide exposure reports are nevertheless surfacing.
- 2) Anvil and related pyrethroids are endocrine disrupters the use of which produces dangerous fluctuations in sex hormones. In animals as diverse as fish and bears, drastic sexual changes are already being observed around the world.
- 3) People are being deliberately sprayed with pesticides each night throughout the City. The SI Advance article is notable in that there has been a concerted effort to suppress this fact and this article is unusually direct in reporting it.
- 4) The NY Times reported as early as 1/19/97 that Malathion may have been implicated in some cases of Gulf War Syndrome yet throughout the 1999-2000 fake "epidemic"supported the Mayor's use of it. The Times and all other media sources allowed the Mayor to repeatedly state that Malathion was completely safe-yet their own story written long before "hysterical environmental activists"became involved in this issue implicated it's use in serious chronic disease.
- 5) Proof has now emerged that Rockefeller University/Rockefeller Foundation scientists-who have been experimenting with West Nile Virus (WNV) right here in NYC since the 1950's (if not earlier) were present in Uganda, Africa at the exact time WNV was "discovered"there in 1936. This proof is directly from the Rockefeller family's own online archive. The Yellow Fever vaccine that Oravax's WNV vaccine is derived from came directly from these same scientists.
- 6) While the "discovery"of a single dead crow infected with WNV has been the signal to spray virtually every neighborhood in the City-including those previously sprayed-the discovery of a single dead crow in City Hall Park WILL NOT result in spraying. Could it be that our silent City Council, the tens of thousands of flunkies in City government and the Mayor's loyal staff of silent accomplices-would balk at being sprayed themselves?

Asthma-Like Illness Spurs Spray Probe
Four cases of reported pesticide poisoning in New York State are being investigated to see whether they may be linked to spraying for mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus, state officials said yesterday. Health Department spokeswoman Kristine Smith couldn't say where the cases were reported or provide information on the patients, other than to say some involved asthma-like symptoms. The state probe comes as the city Health Department is quietly beginning its own survey that will examine whether the pesticide has sickened New Yorkers...The city's survey seems in contrast with the repeated assurances from Mayor Giuliani, as well as many medical experts, that the pesticides being used to kill mosquitoes are safe...The city declined to disclose any information gathered so far for the study. Since the virus appeared in New York last year, this is the first time the city has undertaken a study to assess the potential health risks of pesticides. As of late August, more than 860 gallons of Anvil had been sprayed in New York.

Helicopters that city officials said would only spray over "unpopulated areas" instead spewed their pesticide cloud over surprised and frightened Islanders yesterday. Hundreds of children playing on football and baseball fields in Travis had to dodge the mist...The city has said that helicopter spraying takes place during daylight hours so pilots can avoid populated or environmentally sensitive areas. How they failed to recognize a golf course, youth ball fields and the residential area near High Rock Park -- all areas where people claimed choppers doused them last night -- remains unclear..."The helicopter flew by four times. I think the borough president needs to get a call," said Kathleen Collins of West Brighton, who was watching her 8-year-old son, Michael, play. She said she sat in her car, cradling her 1-month-old daughter, Kayla, during the dousing. "This is a field full of children -- and many of them aren't even playing."...Borough President Guy V. Molinari said the Health Department "never asked us to notify anyone." He said the notion of contacting every league is "outrageous.""We just don't have the resources and staff to do this," said the borough president. "All we can do is take information from the Health Department and relay it to the public."

'Gender-bender' fish problem widens.

The entire male fish population of some European rivers show feminising effects from so-called "gender-bending" chemicals, according to new research. Freshwater fish in five out of seven northern European countries surveyed so far showed some signs of exposure to the chemicals, which mimic female hormones and are present in sewage effluents. "We are finding this problem right across northern Europe, it is clearly widespread," Professor Alan Pickering of the Natural Environment Research Council's Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, UK, said...Symptoms of exposure to the chemicals, known as endocrine-disrupters, ranged from relatively minor effects to, in the worst cases, fish developing both male and female reproductive organs. In some places, such as the River Aire, Yorkshire, UK, 100% of male fish were found to show evidence of feminization...This has raised concern that predators that eat the fish, such as otters and kingfishers, could also be at risk.

Female polar bears in the Norwegian Arctic are growing male genitalia, report scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute in Svalbard. The main cause is likely to be high levels of pollutants, including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), transported to the Arctic in water and air from Europe, North America and Russia. PCBs damage the bears' immune systems and affect their hormone levels, causing them to grow penis-like stumps. The researchers found that 1.2 per cent of Svalbard's 3000 or so bears have been affected so far. The researchers warn that polar bear numbers could "go into slow decline."

During that time, Mr. Donnelly...flew 44 combat missions in the Persian Gulf war and rose to the rank of major. But his flying days ended when he retired from the Air Force last year, disabled by a degenerative nerve disease that some doctors say is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease...Mr. Donnelly, who is 37 years old, is one of the tens of thousands of veterans suffering from chronic health problems they believe are related to their service in the Gulf war...The symptoms of his disease first appeared in the summer of 1995 while he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, he said. During his exercise runs at night, he was exposed twice to malathion, which the Air Force used as a spray to kill mosquitoes."

Lincoln - A $346,621 verdict against the City of Bridgeport underscores the legal vulnerability of cities that allow untrained workers to spray pesticides. A three-judge panel of the Nebraska Court of Appeals upheld a verdict Tuesday in favor of the father of a 5-year-old who suffered four seizures after being exposed to Malathion pesticide being sprayed to kill mosquitoes...Anthony Amateia, who is now 11, was playing with three siblings in the front yard or his Bridgeport house when a city spray truck drove by twice in the summer of 1994. A short time later, Anthony was found on the floor of the family bathroom where he had gone to vomit...Anthony was discharged from the hospital the next day. However, he experienced three more seizures over the next two years... Morrill County Judge Brian Si'lverrnan sided with Axrateis, awardiig the family $346,621. A key part of his ruling was based on the fact that the city employee who operated the spray truck had never received formal training in applying pesticides or using using the machine. The employee also testified that he had no knowledge of the dangers of pesticide or how to take precautions to protect people."

Undisclosed Connection
A Nobel laureate who headed a 1994 Pentagon study that dismissed links between chemical and biological weapons and Persian Gulf War Illness was also a director of a U.S. firm that has earlier exported anthrax and other lethal materials to Iraq before the 1991 conflict, according to federal records. Renowned geneticist Joshua Lederberg of New York served as chairman of the Defense Science Board Task force on Persian Gulf War Health Effects. At the time of the 1994 study, Lederberg was also one of 10 directors on the board of American Type Culture Collection, or ATCC. Newsday has found that the non-profit Rockville, Md. firm made 70 government approved shipments of anthrax and other disease-causing pathogens [including West Nile Virus] to Iraqi scientists between 1985 and 1989 according to congressional records...the ATCC shipments, along with supplies from other countries, had been used by Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's scientists for an expanding biological weapons program, according to U.S. officials...the study was overseen by Deputy Defense Secretary John Deutch, now director of the Central Intelligence Agency...some members of the panel who served with Lederberg, 71, the former president of Rockefeller University in Manhattan, were unaware of his ties to ATCC."
Rockefeller Archive Center Research Reports Online Yellow Fever in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan

http://www.rockefeller.edu/archive.ctr/rro/bell.htmlNo one had any idea that yellow fever occurred in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan until 1933, when its previous biological existence was discovered as part of an Africa-wide immunity survey conducted by the International Health Division (IHD) of the Rockefeller Foundation (RF)...The Sudan government was not willing, however, to let the yellow fever virus enter Sudan for experimental purposes, and therefore refused an IHD request to establish a yellow fever laboratory in southern Sudan. The Ugandan government gave the IHD a better reception; with the opening of the Yellow Fever Research Institute at Entebbe in 1936, IHD scientists started the search for East African yellow fever virus in order to indicate their immunity test results...When the outbreak that the IHD had been waiting for finally came, it nearly passed everyone by...In the eyes of the Sudan Medical Service (SMS) and IHD researchers, however, the epidemic was less an episode of human suffering than an exciting scientific event. Exulted Dr. Robert Kirk of the SMS, in his Scottish lilt, "If it were no' for the war, this epidemic wad be juist grrrand!" IHD doctors Alexander F. Mahaffy and Kenneth C. Smithburn isolated two strains of yellow fever virus from the Nuba Mountains. This proved the validity of the protection test and confirmed that many cases of East African yellow fever were mild, even sub-clinical. Among colonial doctors in Africa, everyone was a convert, requesting large supplies of the RF's 17D yellow fever vaccine...From a country without African colonies, the RF provided the international personnel, outlook, and funds that made for truly global medical philanthropy.

Area Labs Have Long Studied Virus
Yale, Rockefeller began tests in '50sEpidemiologists suspect that the West Nile virus has for the first time been isolated in humans or animals in the Western Hemisphere, but the virus has for decades made its home in several U.S. research laboratories, including Rockefeller University in Manhattan and Yale University in New Haven, Conn. In fact, investigators there were the first to grow and study the West Nile virus in the United States. The work began in the 1950s when unidentified viral samples from around the world arrived at Rockefeller on a steady basis.

Seven dead birds have tested positive for the West Nile virus in recent days, including a dead crow in City Hall Park, city and state health officials said yesterday...Officials said Manhattan and Staten Island were sprayed after the birds were found, so no additional treatment is planned.
